Dynamic Policy Journal

Editorial policy

Dynamic Policy Journal aims to make policy processes easier to follow without smoothing away uncertainty. Our editorial approach favours clear sourcing, careful wording and a visible distinction between explanation, interpretation and opinion.

Accuracy and context

We check factual statements against suitable source material and give readers enough context to understand what a claim refers to. We take care with dates, definitions, responsibilities and the difference between a proposal, an announced decision and an implemented process. When information is incomplete or disputed, we say so rather than present a guess as settled fact.

Independence and judgement

Editorial decisions are made for the reader's understanding of the subject. A partnership does not buy favourable coverage, and a contributor's view is not automatically the journal's view. We identify analysis and opinion clearly and avoid implying that an example speaks for every institution or policy.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error or misleading wording, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests, amend material when warranted and make the change clear to readers. We distinguish corrections to fact from edits that improve clarity or presentation.

Paid and partner material

Paid placements and partner contributions are labelled so readers can tell they are not independent editorial articles. Partnership does not guarantee a particular editorial conclusion. We consider whether a proposed placement fits the journal and is presented plainly.
